"This evil for rent"

Films: House (1985)

Alias: Inner demons, Big Ben

Type: Mystical

Location: Haunted home

Height/Weight: That of average humans.

Affiliation: Evil

Summary: Another day, another house packed to the gills with supernatural entropy. Only this time, it knows what torments you. And it knows how to make it real in a big way.

History: Roger Cobb came to his deceased aunt's house in the desperate hopes of getting away from his modern woes, such as the stress of his horror author career and the fact that his son disappeared a while ago. Unfortunately, this house brings out the worst in his troubled mind, conjuring up horrific monsters and memories designed to drive him mad. Chief among them is Big Ben, an undead soldier that accuses Cobb of leaving him to die back in Vietnam.

Notable Kills: None.

Final Fate: After inexplicably finding his son in a void located in the house's bathroom, Cobb denies his fears of Big Ben, and sets the house ablaze with his courage. From there, he can finally move on.

Powers/Abilities: This house is capable of creating demons based on one's insecurities.

Weakness: If the owner overcomes his fears, the house will self-destruct.

Scariness Factor: 4-Most of the demons that this house summons are not pretty to look at, to say the least. It doesn't help that if something wrong went down in your life, this house will find a way to bring it back in a big way.

Trivia: -This film was also known as "House: Ding Dong, You're Dead" and "Don't Go Into the Haunted House After Midnight". Oh, and there was a sequel. We won’t speak of it (the other two, maybe).

-The seven monsters that show up, Big Ben included, were made by 17 special effects artists over the course of three-and-a-half months.

These friends aren't even fair weather. And what is up with the hand already?!

Did we just trap the hand in freaking cyberspace?

Still better than meetings with my ex.
Even the ominous foreign word for "house" that turns up in posters like this is confused.

"AUUUGH! I BURNED MY FACE ON THE WAFFLE MAKER!"
Yep. The rent isn't worth it.

"See you in the nightmares!"

That's pretty much how every soldier got the draft back in the day.
